TCA STAFF LENDS A HAND TO HELP BUILD SEVEN HOMES FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY’S CYPRESS PROJECT
TCA (Thomas P. Cox: Architects, Inc.) recently donated their time and muscle to help build seven homes for Habitat for Humanity of Orange County. The homes are located in the city of Cypress and TCA brought out more than 50 volunteers that included staff, family and friends to join together to help frame homes for the less fortunate.

The attached homes are 1360 square feet, four bedrooms, one full bath, two half baths, living room, dining area, kitchen and a two-car garage. TCA is a major $100,000 donor with funds from their annual golf tournament revenue.

These homes in Cypress are Habitat for Humanity of Orange County’s 113th-119th homes.

These homes were sold to qualified low-income families for a 1% down payment and a no-interest mortgage. Each family is expected to contribute 500 hours of labor by building their home or volunteering for the Habitat organization.

“It’s rewarding for TCA to see our hard work on our annual golf tournaments being used towards building these homes,” said Aram Chahbazian AIA, principal for the Irvine-based architecture firm. “I am overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our staff coming together for a common cause and volunteering their time outside of the office to help frame these houses. Anyone who has worked in the construction business knows that framing not easy work but I think everyone had fun.”
